Sable labradoodle coats have coats represented by dark-tipped hairs on a background of any solid colour, with no particular pattern/location designated for such hairs. Sable is present through the entire body. Phantom is just presented on the face, legs and under the tail.

 

Puppies that start out as a darker colour but the roots are a lighter / different colour, and slowly as the puppy gets older the roots become the actual colour of the dog.

 

To be sable, All dogs must be:

• kyky at the K locus and

• only 1 copy of ay at the A locus.
